Arcade Time Machine is the result of a lifelong dream.
My name is Jon, and ever since I was around nine years old, I dreamed of having my own arcade. Back then, I used to imagine my family winning the football pools or Spot the Ball — and all I wanted to do was buy a huge house and fill it wall to wall with arcade machines.
My love for gaming started in the arcades of Redcar. I still remember walking in with my family and being completely amazed by the sights, sounds, flashing lights, and excitement all around me. Playing games shoulder to shoulder with my dad, deciding which machine to spend our coins on, searching for the newest games, and feeling the atmosphere of the arcade — those memories stayed with me for life.
As I got older, arcades became a huge part of my teenage years too. My friends and I would spend hours trying to beat the latest games, feeding in 10 pence pieces, competing for high scores, and planning trips just to play new machines we’d heard about. It wasn’t just about gaming — it was about the experience, the competition, and the memories you created together.
Gaming remained a passion throughout my life. From the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64, to the Sega Master System and Mega Drive, every new generation felt exciting. I still remember seeing Golden Axe on the Mega Drive for the first time and thinking, “This is the closest thing to having an arcade in your bedroom.” Games like Shinobi, Ghosts ’n Goblins, Golden Axe, and countless others became a huge part of my childhood.
Today, gaming has come full circle. Modern technology has brought new life to the arcade experience with incredible remakes, modern arcade games, racing simulators, light gun games, and updated versions of the classics we all grew up loving. At Arcade Time Machine, you’ll find a mix of retro legends and modern arcade experiences — all designed to capture the magic that made arcades special in the first place.
That’s what Arcade Time Machine is really about.
It’s about walking into a place that feels exciting the moment you enter. It’s about families and friends standing shoulder to shoulder, laughing, competing, discovering new games, and creating memories together — just like I did growing up.
After dreaming about it for 43 years! I’m proud to finally make that dream a reality and share it with everyone else.
